This 3 day gorilla-trekking safari with golden monkey trekking will take you to the Northern part Rwanda-Musanze. It will introduce you to Rwanda’s tropical rainforest that cover the volcanoes which stretch from Congo to Uganda. This is Rwanda’s most visited area and the conservation area popular for its mountain gorillas where you will trek them in their natural habitat.
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport with a transfer to Musanze
Our dedicated team will be at the Kigali International Airport to meet and assist you. Later, go for lunch in Kigali. Thereafter, you drive to Musanze, the home of the mountain gorilla. On the drive, you will have time to discover and view the Rwandan landscapes. You will relax and enjoy the amenities after check-in at the lodge. You can also go on an optional community visitation tour or visit the twin lakes, Burera and Ruhondo.
Day 2: Undertake the gorilla trek
After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the home of mountain gorillas, the Volcano National Park headquarters at Kinigi, to meet your guides for the day. After completing our park formalities, we go on this once-in-a-lifetime experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Once you spot them, you are allowed to spend an hour watching your closest long-lost cousins.
Return to your hotel for lunch, and then go on an afternoon cultural experience at the Gorilla Guardians’ (formerly Ibyiwacu Culture Village Center). You will then have dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Undertake the Golden Monkey trek with a transfer to KGL
After breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters to meet your guides for the golden monkey tracking. After completing your experience, you will be transferred to the airport in Kigali for your outbound transfer back home. Take a complimentary city tour and go to the local market, the craft market, and visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial site.
